How to Verify a Kahnawake Gaming Licence in Three Checks

Verify a Kahnawake licence from the regulator's own pages: the permit register and its 2023 stamp, the logo certificate, and the complaint route.

How to Verify a Kahnawake Gaming Licence in Three Checks

To verify a Kahnawake gaming licence, match the site’s exact URL against the Kahnawà:ke Gaming Commission’s list of interactive permit holders on gamingcommission.ca, then click the Commission logo on the site: on a properly licensed site it opens a Certificate of Good Standing drawn from the Commission’s database. The list itself is stamped Updated September 28, 2023.

Most of this post is about what that does not prove. This desk read the Commission’s permit-holders page, its Logo Certificate Program page and its 2025 Dispute Resolution Summary on 23 September 2026. It is an evergreen walkthrough, only as current as those pages.

Where is the Kahnawake Gaming Commission list of permit holders?

On the Commission’s permit-holders page: a list of the operators and URLs the Commission has certified, sortable by OPERATOR or URL, and stamped Updated September 28, 2023.

How to verify a Kahnawake gaming licence against the register

  1. Take the address from your browser bar, not the brand name on the banner. A lookalike domain borrows a brand, not its certification.
  2. Search the URL column for that exact domain, and compare the operator entity beside it with the company in the site’s terms.
  3. Note the register’s date. A match proves the URL was on a list last stamped in September 2023. A non-match proves only that it was not on that list. Neither proves today’s status.

The page adds that not all URLs are accessible in all jurisdictions; a listing says nothing about whether a site may lawfully take players where you live.

What the register cannot show

A URL match leaves gaps. The Commission considers Key Person Licences confidential, so the people running a site cannot be checked here. Casino Software Provider Authorization holders are listed separately (VSTechnology Limited and Relax Gaming International Limited), and a CSPA holder “is not entitled to offer interactive games directly to players”: a supplier’s name in a game lobby is not an operator’s permit. The operator’s own permit, the CPA, is covered in our CPA explainer, and what it costs in the 2027 fee post.

What does the Kahnawake logo on a casino site prove?

Per the Logo Certificate Program page, the official logo, in effect since January 15, 2010, is linked to a certification scheme. On a properly licensed site, clicking it generates a Certificate of Good Standing, drawn from the Commission’s database at the time of request. When it works, that is fresher than the 2023 register.

The Commission’s page does not say how to recognise a counterfeit logo or certificate. What follows is this desk’s reasoning, not the Commission’s advice: a logo that links nowhere, or a certificate served from the casino’s own domain, verifies nothing the casino did not write itself. We opened no live certificate and make no claim about its format.

What a Kahnawake permit buys a player: the complaint route

The permit’s practical value is the Commission’s complaint process, under Part XXIV of its Regulations concerning Interactive Gaming. Per the 2025 Dispute Resolution Summary, an advisory notice dated January 15, 2026, complaints go to complaints@gamingcommission.ca or the online form, in writing, no sooner than seven days and no later than six months after the issue first arose. They are acknowledged within 24 hours, the operator owes a full response within seven days, and the complainant’s identity is normally passed to the operator.

For 2025, the notice reports that the Commission dealt with 1,143 complaints; 387 did not meet its criteria, leaving 756 validated. Of those, 598 were categorised as late, delayed or non-payment. Of the 746 resolved, 596 were closed or dismissed as unfounded and 150 were upheld in whole or in part; 10 were outstanding at December 31, 2025. A complaint route is a process, not a guarantee. How the regime compares with its neighbour is in our Tobique vs Kahnawake comparison.

Frequently asked questions

How do I know if a casino is licensed by Kahnawake?

Match the site’s exact URL against the list of interactive permit holders on the Commission’s permit-holders page, then click the Commission logo on the site to see whether a Certificate of Good Standing opens. The list is stamped Updated September 28, 2023, so a match shows the URL was certified on that list, not that it holds a permit today.

Is a Kahnawake gaming licence legitimate?

The Kahnawà:ke Gaming Commission publishes its interactive gaming regulations, a list of permit holders and a written complaint process; in 2025 it validated 756 player complaints and upheld 150 in whole or in part. Whether one site’s claim to hold its permit is genuine is a separate question, answered by the register and the logo certificate.

What does the Kahnawake logo on a casino site prove?

Per the Commission, clicking its logo on a properly licensed site generates a Certificate of Good Standing drawn from its database at the time of request, confirming whether the site has a valid permit. The logo image alone proves nothing; the certificate it opens is the evidence, and the Commission’s page does not describe how to spot a fake one.

This desk names and endorses no listed site. Gambling is for adults and the losses are real, crypto balances can move a long way in the seven days an operator has to answer, and nothing here is financial advice.
