How Much Does a Kahnawake Gaming Licence Cost? 2027 Fees

KGC notice of August 13, 2026: a $35,000 CPA application fee now, $40,000 from January 1, 2027. The current-vs-2027 fee table, read from the regulator.

How Much Does a Kahnawake Gaming Licence Cost? 2027 Fees

A Kahnawake gaming licence costs USD 35,000 to apply for, inclusive of the first year’s USD 20,000 annual fee, per the Kahnawà:ke Gaming Commission’s fee notice of August 13, 2026. For complete applications submitted from January 1, 2027 the fee is USD 40,000, and the five-year renewal rises from USD 5,000 to USD 40,000 including the annual fee.

How much does a Kahnawake gaming licence cost today?

On August 13, 2026 the Kahnawà:ke Gaming Commission (KGC) published an advisory notice titled “Increase of Fees”; this desk read it on September 14, 2026. It covers the Client Provider Authorization (CPA) and the Key Person Permit.

FeeCurrent (USD)From January 1, 2027 (USD)
CPA application$35,000, incl. first-year annual fee$40,000, incl. first-year annual fee
CPA annual fee$20,000$20,000, no change
CPA five-year renewal$5,000, excl. due diligence and annual fee$40,000, incl. annual fee
Key Person Permit application$5,000, incl. first-year annual fee$6,000, incl. first-year annual fee
Key Person Permit annual fee$1,000$1,000, no change
Key Person Permit five-year renewal$5,000, excl. annual fee$6,000, incl. annual fee

The line that moves most is the renewal: $5,000 today before due diligence, $40,000 from 2027 with the annual fee folded in. The notice says CPA fees have changed twice since introduction, most recently in 2016, and Key Person Permit fees never.

When do the new Kahnawake fees apply?

The revised fees apply to complete CPA applications, Key Person Permit applications and five-year renewals submitted on or after January 1, 2027. Applications complete before that date are assessed under the schedule in force at submission, even if finalised later; existing holders’ annual fees are unaffected. Fifteen weeks of the current schedule remain as of this writing.

Why do consultancies quote different Kahnawake licence fees?

Because they are mostly not quoting the regulator. This desk read three consultancy pages on September 14, 2026; none of the text returned mentioned the August 13 notice or a January 1, 2027 change.

  • Wizards, published 29 May 2026, gives a “$40,000 application”, which matches the 2027 column, not the current one. The notice does not say what the fee was in May.
  • Legalpilot’s undated page says the licence “costs 40,000 EUR” in its prose, prints 40,000 USD in its own table, and calls the licence “valid for one year”. The Commission’s notice prices a five-year renewal.
  • Gofaizen & Sherle, marked “Last Update: 20.07.2026”, puts application fees at $15,000 plus $5,000 per Key Person Licence and the annual fee at $10,000. Neither the $15,000 nor the $10,000 figure matches any row of the Commission’s table.

A fee notice proves the price. It does not prove that a CPA holder is well run or that the permit carries weight in a player’s own jurisdiction, the questions we put to the Tobique Gaming Commission licence, to Anjouan vs Curaçao, and to what a supplier licence proves.

Frequently asked questions

How much does a Kahnawake gaming license cost?

Per the Kahnawà:ke Gaming Commission’s notice of August 13, 2026, a Client Provider Authorization application costs USD 35,000 inclusive of the first-year annual fee, then USD 20,000 a year. For complete applications submitted on or after January 1, 2027 the application fee is USD 40,000. A Key Person Permit costs USD 5,000 now and USD 6,000 from 2027.

How do you apply for a Kahnawake gaming license?

The Commission’s application page states that every application must include the information described in the Regulations and application forms plus the appropriate fee; it lists Schedule D for a CPA and Schedule E for a Key Person application. Wizards, a consultancy, says a Key Person permit must precede a CPA; that is its statement, not the regulator’s.

Is a Kahnawake license valid in the US?

The Commission’s fee notice says nothing about the US market. Wizards’ May 2026 page lists ‘no access to the US market’ among the licence’s limits, a consultancy’s summary. A Kahnawà:ke permit does not decide whether an operator may lawfully accept players anywhere else; the player’s own jurisdiction does.

A fee schedule tells you what a regulator charges, not what a casino pays out. Gambling losses are real, crypto assets can lose value faster than a deposit clears, and nothing here is financial advice. 18+.
